Over the weekend I was at the Vermont Overland Rally & Workshop hosted by Peter Vollers of Vermont Overland. The event took place at Lillie Brook Farm in Rockingham, Vermont. Justin and May Lillie are gracious enough to open their amazing land to the 100+ vehicles that were in attendance there. I met some great people and had the chance to taste local foods that were either from the farm itself, or at one of the small towns that I stopped at during the overland excursions. If you enjoy exploring back roads and un-maintained roads in you 4×4 vehicle go and check out Vermont Overland.
I had the chance to take a trip down to Shelton, Connecticut and take pictures of the old factories on Canal Street. The owners of the buildings were nice enough to let me get inside the Star Pin Company factory. The Star Pin Company made metal pins that had a star pattern that would be added to buildings to help prevent wall blow-outs. It was great chance to see a piece of history before they were torn down to make room for modern buildings or refurbished one. On the other hand it was sad to see how vandals had snuck into the factory to deface it.
